Festival Features Five Bands, Special Kids Zone, Local Artisans, Food and Vendors聽

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥�91茄子 and the Town of Boiling Springs are hosting five bands at Webbstock 鈥�23 on Saturday, April 22, from 1 to 10 p.m. Main Street will be closed to traffic during the festival. In addition to live music, the event features a kids zone on the lawn in front of GWU鈥檚 Noel Hall, local artisans, street vendors, and performances by local groups. The best news鈥攖here鈥檚 no cost to attend.

鈥淎 great college town should have a highly-anticipated signature event each year, and we鈥檙e delighted to renew Webbstock for a spectacular second year of fun,鈥� shared GWU President Dr. William Downs.  鈥淟ively music and delicious food have a way of bringing people together, and this year鈥檚 Webbstock promises to draw patrons from our campus, our local community, our county and beyond. Bring a chair, some dancing shoes, and a big appetite!鈥�

The community will enjoy a variety of musical talent on the stage set up near the intersection of Main Street and College Avenue. The bands will play a variety, featuring alt-rock, pop and Americana, country and 鈥�80s icons.

Musical guests are:

• 1 p.m.: 9TY6ISH (ninety-six-ish) is an alt-rock/pop/indie band from North Carolina.
• 2:30 p.m.: Rutherford County Line, the 鈥渂iggest little band in the Carolinas,鈥� is one of the most in demand bands, opening for such national acts as Doug Stone and Aaron Tippin.
• 4 p.m.: The Phoebes Band 鈥� A fast-rising force, performing the perfect mix of Rock & Blues with soulful vocals, screaming guitars, and a driving rhythm section.
• 5:30 p.m.: Cassette Rewind 鈥� Born in the 鈥�80s and raised on radio, Cassette Rewind is the ultimate authentic 鈥�80s experience with dynamic performances of Prince, George Michael, Journey, Whitney Houston and other 鈥�80s pop icons.
• 7 p.m.: Chatham County Line 鈥� A staple of the North Carolina music scene for over two decades, Chatham County Line embraces the heart-worn songwriting and rough-hewn voice of leader Dave Wilson. The national touring Americana band has graced stages across the U.S. as well as Europe, Scandinavia, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Boiling Springs Town Manager Justin Longino said the town is ready to build on the success of last year鈥檚 event. 鈥淭he Town of Boiling Springs is excited to co-host Webbstock again this year and make it bigger and better,鈥� he affirmed. 鈥淭he vendors and participants gave the event rave reviews last year, and we look forward to exceeding expectations again this year. A variety of food and beverage options will be available throughout the day. Also, for attendees 21 and older, the Broad River Greenway will host a beverage garden in the parking lot that serves downtown businesses.
